Personal computing increasingly getting locked down, you no longer get a choice in how your device works. Big Corp knows better and you will agree because the alternative is to be excluded from actively participating in society.
the tech industry just feels so disconnected from everything that got me interested in computers in the first place. Everything that you could explore, modify, gets locked down "for your safety". And then that "safety" is exploited to shove ads down your throat. I'm sure the people working on that shit convinced themselves that they're not really using advanced psychological manipulation to drive profits but instead just showing you things you may find useful. -
