get rid of the tracking tag,That’s everything from “?” end of the URL.
Another cheap way to do this is just a post the share URL in the tab in your own browser, which will clear away the tracking tag then you can copy paste that.
I see this as an individual who posts a whole lot of YouTube links, but I always make sure to strip off that tracking tag just as a courtesy to other

https://youtu.be/AJf4SNuDnoI?si=2_qOUwL2QjQMwTksThis feels weird because there is no algorithmic ad surface in my life at all.
The only ads I see are static paper ads or public screens ads. And the public screen ones have never been relevant. It seems way easier to reduce my exposure to ads than spend my time larping a different profile to confuse some machine.
I had so many people use some version of "data poisoning" as justification or excuse why they still waste their time on instagram. And when I actually looked at it,...

@afelia
...
they didn't actually do any data poisoning. They were just misleading themselves.
The advice from the video really isn't that good for people not actually understanding such things. Because most will just use it as a new word without substance to excuse them misleading themselves. This sounds cynical. But that's what I perceive in people that aren't targeted groups.

@afelia when I saw the toot I first thought the video would talk about the same as this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GeCq1qwqjc

https://youtu.be/AJf4SNuDnoI?si=2_qOUwL2QjQMwTks@afelia the well-known "supermarket figured out daughter was pregnant" story is … probably not true.

@henry_null @afelia Did he just name drop ISDN as an example of "low bandwidth line"?
I remember when I was jealous of those

They probably wouldn't put an advert in your brain. What they'd probably do is time the display of the advert with a release of serotonin in your brain. It's all they'd need to control pretty much your entire personality. They don't need the brain chip for this, and have devised simpler methods through your feeds for now, but it'd likely be way more effective.

@3mind it doesn't need a lot of people to poison the data. It needs to be us.

https://youtu.be/AJf4SNuDnoI?si=2_qOUwL2QjQMwTks@afelia What's the actual advice she's giving? She explains some surface-level stuff about data poisoning but the actual advice she's giving is "still let them track you, but make it wholesome"?
That's not data poisoning, that's trying to become another demographic!
