@Artafernes@mastodon.social @assimilateborg @petko Not at all, just don't download torrents directly, use a bit torrent client like qbit torrent or bitlord, it provides a bit of a security buffer, but you still have to know what not to download, what looks suspicious and such.

Been sailing the seas for around 30 yrs now. Will occasionally support a creator directly, but never corporations.
Copyright laws and patents are just ways for the rich to gatekeep access. They should be abolished altogether.
I mean, the European colonists also didn't give a fuck about copyright when they traveled across the globe, stealing left and right. And many of today's rich, who are whining about patents and copyright, have built their wealth on past thefts and exploitations to begin with.

@petko Already gone back to it and finally cought up on the latest 3 series of Always Sunny which I couldn’t even find a streaming service for! Also going to catch up on Air Crash Investigation which again been impossible to source for about a decade now! Can’t even buy it!

@petko Whenever I hear people complaint about people pirating from billionaires or big companies, I'm always reminded of this quote from South Park: 'Man must learn to think of these horrible outcomes before he acts selfishly, or else, I fear… recording artists will be forever doomed to a life of only semi-luxury'
