@khleedril @emilis @tomstafford in addition to being the non-corporate social media platform, Mastiodon is the common platform for kinks of all persuasions. Its become for eccentric hobbies and gloriously strange people what Wikipedia is for shared knowledge.

Might work in the lab but cooking the peas is the last three minutes of getting the meal on the table when you are doing a number of other things at the same time, so taking those three minutes to "be very careful" is often not practical. Sticking them in a basin of cold water some time earlier, when you've got the bandwidth to spare, is.
@TimWardCam @DamonHD @solderandchaos @tomstafford After a little trial and error to work out your local parameters, peas microwaved directly from frozen are trivial. I recommend cooking them in a pyrex measuring cup for 3-4 minutes (may require longer depending on microwave oven and quantity of peas).
(Full disclosure: I like cooked peas, but I have also always liked eating the peas while still frozen, and as a child would sometimes specifically request a separate dish of still frozen peas instead of cooked peas.)
