I follow 923 accounts. According to the relationships page of my Mastodon instance 326 of them are inactive.
Some of them are only posting to events like all the c3 accounts, but most of them are just people we lost... many of them still use Bluesky - so what did we do wrong that they left Mastodon?

@jascha Mastodon is the only network I'm active in. I tried Lemmy a bit, but I've never tried Bluesky nor Threads.
Most say it is a benefit, but I miss it: algorithms. On Twitter, it actually worked for me when I opened a post, that I saw relevant replies first and thrash at the bottom. And the thrash at the bottom was from accounts that I haven't blocked yet, but were blocked already by many others.
Here on Mastodon there is way less thrash, but still I would like some sorting.

@jascha Here on Mastodon (using Fedilab), I'm seeing the replies chronologically - but I want to see replies of people I follow first, and most of the time I want to see most favorited replies first; similar to Lemmy.
There are a few more ideas floating in this thread: https://mas.to/@TechConnectify/112255213427125689

@SchwarzeLocke@ohai.social @jascha@ohai.social Official Mastodon will never do this by default. They don't even show the likes in most places.
So if you want that with Mastodon you need a client different from the official one.
Don't know if https://phanpy.mastodon.world/ fits - but it's the first that comes to my mind.
