@GossiTheDog Quick, someone get AI to remake recolor this gif so the "honey" is brown.

Time to start your own business? Assuming that's something you would be interested in doing of course

That's my plan after rage quitting last October because the CEO went off the AI deep end.

@GossiTheDog How long can the reinsurance of AI loans last before the bubble pops and the knowledgeable are a scarce resource again?

@GossiTheDog LinkedIn is horrible for the job search now. I think the tides have turned and not doing any applications directly through it is your best bet.
Going human to human gets you a lot further - feels awkward maybe but emailing old colleagues and friends and asking if they have any leads is well worth doing. Also applying to places where it's via emailing a CV/résumé to a human being.
Finding the jobs is harder without a search engine though ofc...

@GossiTheDog Jarvis, recolor to white.

@GossiTheDog good recent list here: https://bsky.app/profile/jesslynnrose.bsky.social/post/3mmemo7f5vk2r
Also heard good things about https://remotive.com/ - but it's a paid for service.

@GossiTheDog What's "AI mad"?
I mean, I use (preferably local) LLMs pretty much daily but it's like saying I use a compiler daily or reverse engineering software daily. LLMs are just one tool of many, not something magical.

@GossiTheDog Sorry to hear that. I'm sure that, if needed, you will find a way to finally start your own airline company. I'll fly with you

@GossiTheDog Keep working on sharpening your skills, and pivot to consulting, specializing in fixing AI bullshit.
Here's an example.
A client came to me and said "We need some help debugging some code, we've had a team of four developers working on it for two weeks, and we can't make any progress."
I took a look at it, and while a quick glance seemed to be fairly straightforward, a closer look showed they were sending malformed SQL into one tool, whose output would be a CSV file, and trying to push it into another tool that only accepted XML as input... And some of the command line options they were using for these tools was complete nonsense.
"Where did you get this code?" I asked the project manager...
"Oh, it came from <insert name of LLM here>, and it looked fine!"
I started from scratch, and wrote what they needed in about 6 hours... But they burned 300+ hours on trying to make sense of garbage output, while THEIR customers were stuck waiting for data.

AI mad is, when people start thinking that the storiodal markov chains are capable of thought and reason.
You won't need any (de)compiler nor reversing tools, as the LLM magically will do everything of that already on its own and much better (or really soon) and more.

@GossiTheDog is there no way to use AI to generate activity that makes it seem like you are using it but let's you do you in peace?

So I am an actual bonafide reverse engineer that spoke assembler as my first language ... but I am now using an LLM with an MCP towards Ghidra to reverse engineer a lot (and I mean _a lot_) quicker than if I were to do it all manually as before.
That's what I mean with using tools as tools when they're good at what they do. Fanatical anti-AI sentiments that ignore actual usefulness is just weird.

Ignoring that three nines of LLM/AI are demonstrations of GIGO is weird.
Ignoring the colossal environmental destruction caused by the data centers is weird too.

My GPU isn't using more power when running an LLM than when playing a game.
I don't think you have actual insight into this topic - while I obviously have. So why make such a reply?

@GossiTheDog Applying POSIWID: The purpose of LinkedIn is to prevent competition from, and people getting employed by, non-corporations.
[Edit: Or "AI" startups with sole intent to be acquired by a corporation, which is 100% of startups now]
