I learned today that amazon will discontinue the option to download kindle ebooks on February 26th. So in case someone wants to create a local backup, this is the time. Maybe downloading already stopped working for many, I could only download for my outdated kindle keyboard, not for my 2025 Kindle paperwhite.

Interesting other words for ebooks are "calibre" and "DRM".
