-
π¨ New post alert π@xinit their Davos launch video was so triggering because everyone was in red MAGA-like baseball hats and you had to stop the video to see the message was "make science great again"

-
π¨ New post alert π@PensioNien thank you Nina! I got so many Elon vibes from them... promises to save the world (remember when Musk said he'd end world hunger?) but then going for a money and power grab
-
π¨ New post alert π@hweimer absolutely! and I'm a bit sorry I didn't have time to explore the EuroStack connection in my piece.
I find W's initiative is a naked money and power grab

π¨ New post alert πMy top 3 "favorite" (aka juicy) discoveries about #WSocial, which I discuss on my blog:
1) The co-founders picked #ATproto but only started using the network WEEKS after their Davos launch
2) The CEO said "we also want to keep European data in Europe to maybe train European AI models with our data because we also have amazing AI companies in Europe" π€―
3) W Social user "homersimpson"

-
π¨ New post alert π@vinterkarusell thank you - I spent 3 weeks digging up info about it... vibes are TOTALLY off for sure, thus my fascination
the fact they can connect to the ATproto world may give them more runway than random social media projects based on proprietary software.
and they have strong connections to the Eurostack people (which I didn't have time to discuss in this piece)... so they may be around for a while
-
π¨ New post alert π@vinterkarusell they are extremely well connected (in the worlds of business and politics in Europe) and have deep pockets, so it could go on for a while...

New post alert
A deep dive into #WSocial with some fascinating findings: candid statements about their motives, a Greta Thunberg connection, potential AI plans (!!!)
Why write about it again? I still had so many questions after publishing my first article.
I spent 3 weeks watching every interview I could find and connecting the dots.
