@Infrogmation For the record, archive.ph does a great job of cutting through adblocker walls, paywalls, etc

@Infrogmation
I get this message when I have my ad blocker disabled already, like on ad-driven link-shortening sites. If they can't be bothered to actually check if it's disabled, why should I even try? -
@Infrogmation *sigh* Right click, inspect element, delete
@Oneironaut
Too bad this doesn't work on link shorteners. No download link for you.

hellz no! -
@jack @Infrogmation pretty much every good and ethical ad gets around all blocking methods.
@LovesTha @jack @Infrogmation this, and I'm happy to pay to support small content creators that don't use ads or post AI slop when I can afford to do so - more than disabling my ad blocker would net them. The ad industry has normalized the mindset that we should expect to see ads in exchange for free content. Maybe we shouldn't just accept that. Obviously not everyone can always afford to tip, but it might happen more without ad culture.

@skedarwarrior @Infrogmation I use DuckDuckGo which blocks tracking and phishing as a matter of must.

@connynasch @Infrogmation That or searx for me.
I wish corporations would stop shipping backdoor ads on every platform they can.
Why is it so complicated for them to just ship static ads that don't have code in them to watch people?
Unbelievable... you know?

@secretsloth @jack @Infrogmation I think it is important to point at companies doing ads well. My prime example is Risky.biz podcast. It's only ads are sponsored interviews. 100% ethical because they are very transparent that "Company Y" has paid for us to interview "Person" and the interviews are interesting so they aren't skipped.

@Infrogmation if my adblocker blocks your site, your site must be an ad

I wanna kiss this frog -
@Infrogmation I read this as: you're not welcome, leave this site. And do so.
